SEA FARMERS

AQUACULTURE PROJECTS

Recupera Chile is an active partner with the "Integral Coastal Development Program: Sea Farmers" since 2014 which supports artisanal fishermen and women, by facilitating the development and implementation of small-scale aquaculture projects and enterprises in the Biobío Region.

The new initiative was introduced by the group of Research and Development in Mussel Production (Pro-Mytilus-UdeC) of Universidad de Concepción.

The "Integral Coastal Development Program: Sea Farmers" aligns with the government policies that seek to foster and promote the development of small-scale aquaculture in the coastal communities of the Biobío Region.

At present, Sea Farmers is being discussed and analyzed in different instances of the fishery institutions of the Biobío Region in order to see their financing, implementation, and execution strategy.
